About The Position

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the dietary aide will assist the cook with the coordinating and functioning of the dietary needs of the residents and families of Agapé Hospice in accordance with the Hospice philosophy.

Requirements

  • WHMIS training
  • Food handling and safety training (completed within the last 2 years)
  • CPR
  • First Aid
  • Valid Police/VSC check

Nice To Haves

  • High School education or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Assists cook with coordination of food preparation and service in the kitchen
  • Assists cook with preparation of sufficient amounts of food for residents, guests and catered functions according to established menu rotation
  • Stores perishable food and avoids waste as per established guidelines
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment, carts, pans, pots, and dishes, serving areas, tables and trays
  • Operates basic equipment including the dishwasher
  • Ensures cleanliness of cooking equipment as well as work area through established cleaning and sanitation practices
