This position is responsible for providing assistance in all food service functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures. The Dietary Aide will follow and perform duties in adherence to Senior Lifestyle Corporation Dining Policy and Procedures. They will serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures and ensure that foods follow prescribed modified or therapeutic diets, nutrition/hydration requirements and resident preferences. This includes resident room service as well as service to designated dining areas. The role involves setting up, delivering, and verifying accuracy of meal trays, food carts, and dining areas. Upon meal completion, the team member will remove all soiled items/equipment and deliver to the dishwashing area. The Dietary Aide will also distribute and collect menus, assist the department in obtaining proper food supplies for the next meal, and assist cooks in preparation of menu items. They will prepare and deliver snacks and other items as instructed and assist in inventory control and stocking. All personnel must follow safety precautions to prevent accidents in food preparation and prevention of back injury. This role also includes kitchen utility duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, bussing items from dining areas to the dish room, washing and cleaning small wares and equipment, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, and removing garbage. Keeping work areas clean, dry, and free of hazards is essential. The Dietary Aide must know and adhere to all company and local, state, and county health department regulations, and ensure that all dining areas are clean and safely operating. Attendance at all required training, in-services, and staff meetings is mandatory, as is meeting all department training standards through Redi-Learning or other necessary training modules.
