About The Position
Under the general supervision of the Dietary Manager and the Cook, the Dietary Aide helps prepare the residents’ drinks and doctor-ordered snacks and helps set up trays for meals. The Aide also assists in the cleaning of the kitchen. JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Responsible to: Dietary Manager and Cook on duty. Workers Supervised: None. Interrelationships: Dietary Aide works closely with all Dietary employees and LTC nursing staff, as well as interacting regularly with residents, residents’ families, and staff from throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and write, make simple calculations, and follow oral and written directions.
Responsibilities
- Prepares liquids for residents at mealtime.
- Assists in preparation of salads/desserts as requested by Cook/Dietary Manager.
- Sets up meal trays at mealtime.
- Assists with cleanup of kitchen throughout the day and at closing time.
