This position is responsible for providing assistance in all food service functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures. This position reports to the Director of Dining Services but may take direction from all pertinent management personnel. The role involves following and performing duties in adherence to Senior Lifestyle Corporation Dining Policy and Procedures, serving food in accordance with established portion control procedures, and ensuring foods follow prescribed modified or therapeutic diets, nutrition/hydration requirements, and resident preferences. It also includes assisting or serving meals, setting up, delivering, and verifying accuracy of meal trays, food carts, and dining areas, and removing soiled items. The role assists in obtaining food supplies, preparing menu items, and preparing/delivering snacks, as well as assisting in inventory control and stocking. Safety precautions in food preparation and prevention of back injury are paramount. Kitchen utility duties such as sweeping, mopping, bussing items, washing and cleaning small wares and equipment, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, and removing garbage are also part of the responsibilities. Adherence to all company and local, state, and county health department regulations is required. Ensuring dining areas are clean and safely operating, and attending all required training, in-services, and staff meetings are also key aspects of the role.
