About The Position

The Dietary Aide is responsible for providing excellent service to customers in the cafeteria, utilizing safe food handling practices, and maintaining cleanliness. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work effectively within the department's structure. The position also emphasizes professional growth and timely completion of mandatory education.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required from an accredited institution

Responsibilities

Exhibits service excellence in providing service to customers in the cafeteria.
Is friendly, helpful and accommodating
Utilizes safe food handling practices including taking food temperatures, using gloves when handling food, and storing food properly
Uses proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques on equipment tables and chairs.
Cleaning assignments are completed
Cafeteria is neat during service; foods are displayed appropriately
Organizes daily schedule to facilitate efficient food production, service and re-stocking of food and nonfood items
Is flexible and available when emergency situations require unusual staffing and is willing to help other areas of the department when needed
Uses proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques on work surfaces, equipment and cutting boards
Is flexible and available when emergency situations require unusual staffing requirements
Recognizes job relationships and functions effectively within the organizational structure
Maintains favorable attendance. Reports absences in accordance with the Employee Handbook in the manner prescribed by the Department Manager
Maintains professional growth and development through attendance at seminars, workshops, and other means to keep abreast of latest trends in the field
Completes mandatory education and employee health screening on a timely basis
Perform other duties as required or assigned
