About The Position

Dietary Aide Location: Mercy Hospital – A Member of Catholic Health We’re looking for a reliable and service-oriented Dietary Aide to assist with meal service, food preparation, and sanitation—ensuring our patients, staff, and visitors receive nourishing meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience
Ability to read and write in English
Strong attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team

Nice To Haves

Prior food service experience helpful
Basic knowledge of cleaning and food production equipment preferred

Responsibilities

Deliver and collect patient meal trays
Set up tray line stations and follow portion control guidelines
Prepare salads, sandwiches, desserts, and restock floor refrigerators as needed
Set up beverage carts and assist with special events as assigned
Follow diet extensions and food safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination
Clean kitchen areas and sanitize equipment according to policy
Sort, store, and handle utensils, food, and supplies properly
Operate dish room station; record dishwasher temperatures
Ensure work areas are clean and organized before breaks and at the end of the shift
Adjust to changing assignments and complete tasks within designated timeframes
Follow safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
