About The Position
The Dietary Aide is responsible for various tasks related to patient meal service, ensuring patient satisfaction and safety. This includes collecting menus, assisting patients with selections, maintaining a positive attitude, and ensuring meal quality, accuracy, and timely delivery. The role also involves station setup, cleaning, portion control, and adherence to sanitation and safety guidelines, including HACCP and HIPAA regulations. The Dietary Aide must also participate in in-services to maintain patient safety and comply with hospital standards.

Responsibilities
- Collects menus on a daily basis, assisting patients with selections if needed.
- Visits patients on a daily basis and obtains food preferences and allergies.
- Ensures meal quality, accuracy, and delivery meets and/or exceeds departmental standards from preparation through tray assembly, delivery, and passing.
- Stocks, replenishes, and sets up necessary stations in work areas.
- Breaks down and cleans stations as assigned.
- Follows proper portion control standards.
- Assures tray accuracy and adheres to proper time and temperature procedures.
- Works in accordance with job profiles assigned daily.
- Follows proper pre and post service sanitation assignments to ensure patient safety.
- Complies with HACCP guidelines including FIFO, Labeling, Dating and Food Danger Zones.
- Maintains adequate hygiene standards inclusive of hair restraints, hand washing, hand sanitation and appropriate use of disposable hand gloves.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned while continuing to observe patient rights and HIPPA regulations.
- Responds to patients' needs in a timely and professional fashion.
- Adheres to regulatory and Hospital Standards, Policies, Procedures and Protocols.
- Participates in all Department and Hospital in-services to ensure patient safety is never compromised.
