About The Position

The Dietary Aide plays a vital role in supporting the nutritional and dietary needs of residents within a Skilled Nursing Facility. This position ensures that all dietary procedures are followed meticulously to provide safe, nutritious, and appealing meals tailored to individual dietary requirements. The Dietary Aide collaborates closely with dietary staff and healthcare professionals to maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation. By assisting in meal preparation, delivery, and cleanup, the Dietary Aide contributes to the overall well-being and satisfaction of residents. This role demands attention to detail, adherence to health regulations, and a compassionate approach to serving vulnerable populations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience or training in dietary procedures within a healthcare or skilled nursing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving lifting and carrying.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility or similar healthcare setting.
  • Certification in food handling or dietary aide training programs.
  • Familiarity with specialized diets such as diabetic, low sodium, or texture-modified diets.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and healthcare staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to prescribed dietary plans and facility guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all dietary procedures, including food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
  • Deliver meals to residents in a timely and courteous manner, accommodating special dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment used in food service.
  • Collaborate with nursing and dietary staff to monitor residents’ dietary intake and report any concerns or changes.
