About The Position

Hanford Post Acute is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dietary Aide to join our team on a part-time/on-call basis. This position plays an important role in supporting meal service, kitchen cleanliness, and resident satisfaction in a skilled nursing environment.

Requirements

Ability to read and follow recipes.
Ability to read and understand technical procedures.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to solve practical problems and seek assistance when needed.
Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s Certificate.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior dietary, food service, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assists with food service duties based on the needs of the shift.
Ensures meals are prepared, served, and cleaned up in a safe, sanitary, and efficient manner.
Learns and follows the food service routine in a timely manner.
Sets up meal trays accurately and efficiently.
Assists with serving meals to residents.
Strips returned trays and washes dishes.
Operates the dishwasher and monitors dishwashing cycles.
Checks and records chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwasher at the beginning of shift.
Prepares nourishments and snacks as directed.
Sweeps and mops kitchen areas.
Carries out trash and garbage.
Puts groceries and supplies away in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
Cleans work surfaces, refrigerators, and kitchen equipment.
Maintains floors and work areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
Leaves the kitchen clean, organized, and sanitary at the end of shift.
Assists the Cook or Dietary Supervisor as needed.
Participates in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
Works cooperatively with staff across all departments.
