About The Position

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting with the overall dietary program at Highlands Senior Living. This position will support the coordination of food service activities, including menu development, menu maintenance, and cost control. The position will also ensure that all food served meets Highlands Senior Living’s quality standards and regulatory requirements. The position will also ensure that all food served is properly labeled and that proper sanitation procedures are followed at all times to meet state and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Serv Safe certification preferred or Company can sponsor certification.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience working in long-term care or rehabilitation environment (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a nutritional program that meets the nutritional needs of our residents.
  • Coordinate nutritional services with other departments/other Highlands facilities as needed.
  • Develop and implement a menu plan to meet the nutritional needs of our residents.
  • Coordinate food service programs as needed.
  • Ensure that all food served is properly labeled, packaged, and shipped in accordance with established regulations and standards.
  • Ensure that all foods are properly stored in accordance with established standards to meet state compliance needs.
  • Ensure that proper sanitation standards are met at all times during food service operations.
  • Coordinate deliveries of food as needed.
  • Prepare meals for facility staff on a daily basis in accordance with the HACCP guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of food service activities, food service supplies, nutrition data, resident nutrition information, and meal plans for each department; maintain records in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive working environment for staff by complying with staff training needs; complying with staff meetings; providing staff feedback; providing support to staff when needed; enforcing rules when necessary; participating in departmental planning initiatives; participating in departmental planning initiatives when needed; providing leadership when needed; attending meetings when needed; promoting interdepartmental cooperation; maintaining confidentiality of records; complying with Federal regulations; complying with Departmental policies and procedures regarding compliance issues.
