About The Position
We’re looking for friendly, compassionate, team players to join our culinary team! Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment for the hospital cafeteria. Sanitize all pots, pans, utensils, and equipment in a timely manner. Support stocking and inventories by shelving and organizing delivered food and items. Responsibilities Patient Ambassador Wage: $18/hour Full-time and part-time positions available Day/Evening/Night shifts available Background check, drug screen, and proof of employment eligibility required Location: MercyOne Rehabilitation Hospital Des Moines
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must practice good personal hygiene and be neatly groomed in a uniform
- Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Culinary experience (cook, commercial kitchen, fast food, hotel operations, healthcare)
Responsibilities
- Ensure each patient receives an accurate meal that matches their order and diet requirements
- Provide excellent customer service for all patients
- Deliver and collect patient menus in a timely manner
- Prepare cold/hot items and condiments for meal times
- Adhere to the facility’s health and safety policies and procedures
- Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently
