About The Position

We are seeking a reliable Dietary Aide to join our dining services team. The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting with food preparation, assembling patient trays, delivering meals, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen environment. The ideal candidate ensures that meals are served accurately according to diet orders and provides excellent service to our patients.

Requirements

Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
Ability to read and follow recipes and diet orders.
Must possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid Nevada Food Handler Certification.
Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and co-workers.
Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Pre-employment drug screening, to include testing for marijuana, is required upon job offer.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in food service, ideally in a healthcare or long-term care setting, is preferred but not required.
Basic understanding of food service practices and nutrition preferred.

Responsibilities

Carry out defined work routines with various dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment.
Ensure timely meal and snack service.
Help with the preparation and serving of snacks, salads, and desserts.
Check meal tray accuracy against patient menus and dietary restrictions.
Prepare simple food items, salads, and snacks.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dishwashing area, and dining room, including cleaning equipment and sanitation.
Ensure all food handling follows safety and health standards.
Engage with patients, providing friendly, high-quality customer service.
Assist in receiving and storing food supplies safely.
Complete side work and other opening/closing responsibilities.
Participate in departmental and in-service educational programs.
