About The Position

Generations at Applewood in Matteson, Illinois, has Immediate Openings for a Dietary Aide to work early morning to 2p. Position available is Full-time. Must have Food Handler Certificate. Healthcare dietary experience required -- not fast food. We are offering a great opportunity for those who are interested in a culinary career. You'll be learning by doing multiple functions within our dietary department: prepping, plating, assembling and passing trays, dishwashing all the while being mentored by someone with years of culinary experience. Requirements

Previous dietary experience in a healthcare facility - NOT Fast Food
Must be 18 years or older
Must have Food Handler Certification
Basic awareness/knowledge of sanitation practices as it relates to food preparation
Ability to read, speak and understand English
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must have compassion and tolerance for older adults
Deliver excellent customer service with a smile!
Must be deemed eligible to work in healthcare by IDPH; May require fingerprinting. No Waivers accepted.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and service of food and beverages for residents as assigned
Coordinate daily dietary services with the nursing staff
Read and interpret Diet Cards
Deliver food to residents' rooms
Set up/take down dining areas
May take inventory of food and supplies
Ensure work areas are clean, organized and safe
Dishwashing and other tasks as assigned
