The Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service. Assists residents when placing orders from the menu, provides beverage service, and refills salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal. The role also involves reporting broken equipment or tableware to a supervisor, understanding sit-down service and proper serving techniques, and having a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.) and proper food storage and labeling techniques. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming the kitchen and dining room, attending required in-services and staff meetings, and completing all other assigned duties. The Dietary Aide must be attentive to the special needs of residents, including those with mobility deficits or memory impairment, and assist with tray service. They must also follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information and interact in a polite and considerate manner with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
