The Dietary Aide - Server assists with food preparation, food service, and general duties of the dietary department. This role is responsible for preparing food, serving meals, snacks, and beverages while adhering to portion control and sanitation practices. The position also involves delivering meals to resident rooms or tables, setting up meal trays according to dietary orders, and ensuring residents receive their proper diet and food preferences in a timely manner. Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen, dining room, and equipment is a key aspect of this role, as is the proper cleaning and storage of utensils and dishes. The Dietary Aide - Server must also ensure proper storage, rotation, preparation, and labeling of food in accordance with state and local guidelines and company policy, discarding outdated food. Collaboration with dietary staff to ensure equipment is functioning correctly and reporting any faulty equipment is expected. Adherence to facility fire safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical practices, along with prompt reporting of unsafe conditions, is required. The role involves courteously greeting residents, visitors, and staff, respecting dignity and confidentiality, and promoting resident and staff rights. Additionally, the Dietary Aide - Server is responsible for resetting the dining room for subsequent meals, ensuring supplies are available, and assisting with storing incoming food and supplies. Participation in training, in-services, and staff meetings is also part of the responsibilities, along with performing other assigned duties.
