Nutrition Services at Union Hospital is looking to add a Dietary Aide to its team of caregivers. In this role, you will ensure that patients receive good nutritious meals that nourish their wellbeing, spiritually and emotionally, and contribute to a good dining experience for patients. When we do everything in service of our patients and caregivers, no detail gets ignored. A caregiver in this position works varying days and hours between 7:30AM – 6:30PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months of experience in food service
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus also required.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of duties to ensure proper distribution of prepared foods to patients, cafeteria guests and catered events.
  • Accurately set up and deliver patient trays and nourishments.
  • Distribute correct portions of food and beverage items.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of specific therapeutic diets.
  • Follow department standards and procedures.
  • Utilize and rotate food products, appropriately store leftovers and label and date food items.
