About The Position

The Dietary Aide / Cook is responsible for assisting all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. This role involves assisting in establishing the food service production line, ensuring meals are prepared on time, and performing daily or scheduled cleaning duties. The position requires maintaining sanitation standards, cleaning work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, sweeping and mopping floors, and washing utensils. Ensuring safety regulations and precautions are followed is also a key responsibility. This role is part of the Star View Adolescent Center, a comprehensive mental health inpatient residential facility for adolescents aged 12-17, providing intensive residential services since 1988.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred
• Knowledge/experience with dietary procedures and inspections of food service areas for sanitation

Responsibilities

• Assist in all dietary functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.
• Assist in establishing food service production line and make sure meals are prepared on time.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Clean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweep and mop floors as directed.
• Wash and clean utensils as directed.
• Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed.
