This position is responsible for managing and operating the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The Dietary Aid reports to the Dietary Supervisor and is expected to maintain a safe, orderly, clean, and sanitary kitchen and cooking area. The role involves preparing tasteful meals, cooking a variety of foods in large quantities, and accurately preparing special diets according to menus and portion control guides. The Dietary Aid will also record food temperatures, prepare pureed foods, and work cooperatively with personnel in all departments. Maintaining sanitation standards, assisting with meal service, and cleaning cooking areas and serving carts are key duties. Additionally, the Dietary Aid must report resident care concerns, participate in training dietary staff, and ensure cleaning schedules are followed. This role has supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
