About The Position

Diet Technicians provide nutritional services to residents, guests, and other personnel under the standards of professional responsibility and practice. In our Small House Neighborhood elder care model, you will have the opportunity to serve elders in a resident oriented, non-institutional setting. The population primarily includes geriatric individuals aged 62 to 85+, with occasional inclusion of younger adults over 18.

Requirements

Interest in caring for the overall best interest of the elders.
Understanding of the requirements of the position.
Associate degree in dietetic technology from an ADA accredited program.
Registered Dietetic Technician licensure/certification.
Must be able to communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

Supervisory experience.
Computer experience.
Nutrition experience.
Food service experience.

Responsibilities

Orient dietary services around the autonomy and dignity of elders.
Communicate a sense of caring, concern, and dignity for elders.
Place dietary decision-making in the hands of elders whenever possible and appropriate.
Make prompt and accurate judgments regarding elder care and emergencies.
Work and communicate effectively as part of a self-directed work team.
Cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly, and/or emotional upset.
Communicate in English.
Be detailed oriented and have excellent literacy and writing, documentation, communications, and interpersonal abilities.
Use tools and equipment required.
