About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Patient Food Services or Designate, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Diet Technician, Patient Food Services is responsible for the preparation and delivery of infant feedings and adult enteral feedings. Preparation technique must adhere to all sanitary regulations and standards established by regulating agencies and the St. Boniface Hospital. Performing additional related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a recognized Dietetic Technician program (or equivalent, e.g. Bachelor of Science degree, Human Nutritional Sciences) required.
  • Valid Food Handler Training Certificate required.
  • Basic knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic nutrition interventions.
  • Proficiency in the use of common software application, preferably the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Independent work practices.
  • Initiative.
  • Flexibility.
  • Critical analysis skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels of internal and external contacts.
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years’ experience preferred.
  • Experience with CBORD Diet Office Management software system is an asset.

Responsibilities
