About The Position

Lexington Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Cayce, South Carolina, is seeking a part-time Diet Aide to support meal service for patients, visitors, and staff. The role may involve inspecting food stock; preparing, pouring, and portioning food; carrying trays and pots; delivering meals to patients; maintaining sanitary food-handling practices; cleaning work areas and equipment; and washing dishes and utensils. The Diet Aide is expected to integrate the hospital’s mission and Guiding Principles into daily work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or the equivalent in education or experience.
• Food Handlers license.
• Knowledge of patient diets, safe food-handling requirements, and use of the Nutritional Care Manual.
• Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards.
• Effective organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.

Nice To Haves

• Patient-related service experience.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities
