About The Position

Maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; adjusting and alignments; keeping records. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment; Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays; 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule; Pay between $21.25 and $36.25 per hour depending on experience with and additional $1 shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift. Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines with an understanding of gasoline engines (for mixed fleet roles)
  • Proficiency in electrical systems, brake systems, suspension/steering systems, Transmission/drivetrain repair, Cooling systems, HVAC systems, and familiarity with CMMS- Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Proficiency in all fleet maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors, customers, and other technicians, including writing repair and service orders.
  • Ability to lift 50-75 pounds while standing, bending and working in tight spaces.
  • Must possess own tools

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses vehicle issues by performing inspections, tests, and identifying worn or damaged parts.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs including preventive service, part replacements, system overhauls, adjustments, alignments, and upgrades across all major vehicle systems.
  • Ensures compliance and performance through test drives, system checks, and adherence to federal and state safety, engine, and emissions standards.
  • Maintains documentation and equipment by recording repairs, managing inventory, troubleshooting shop equipment, and coordinating necessary repairs.
  • Supports department goals by controlling costs, staying current through training and technical publications, and proactively adding value to operations.
