Kienstra - Ready Mix Concrete has served the St. Louis Regional Area since 1947! Seeking an experienced technician interested in a career in repairing ready-mix concrete trucks. This is a day shift, Monday through Friday position with available overtime. The position provides an excellent wage and benefits package with an opportunity for advancement. The purpose of this position is to perform routine, preventative, diagnostic, and repair maintenance on all Company equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner. The technician may be called upon to work extensive overtime as weather and business conditions warrant. You will perform a complete range and variety of major, minor and routine repairs on heavy equipment or heavy vehicles. You will require the ability to repeat the same or similar tasks multiple times in a day. Familiarity and strict adherence to all company policies that impact job, including but not limited to: lockout/tagout, confined space and hazard communication. Candidates must be able to effectively complete all duties outlined below and meet all qualifications and proficiencies as required by the position or be able to demonstrate an aptitude to do so with acquired experience. A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining multiple types of diesel-powered equipment. Duties include adjusting equipment, repair or replace defective parts, diagnosing faults or malfunctions using testing equipment, and cleaning or performing maintenance work. Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance work. Performance of an individual daily fleet of location units, correcting fluids and checking functions as required. Perform quality preventative maintenance as per the detailed schedule on a consistent basis. Perform preventive maintenance inspections as specified using mechanic tools and shop equipment which may include hydraulic, electric, hand and air tools. Perform diagnostic tests for routine maintenance procedures and determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems. Diagnosing malfunctions or problems using a computerized system or testing equipment to determine the root cause of any issues. Repair malfunctioning components, retrofit engines, change brakes, adjust steering systems, replace worn-out parts and change hydraulic fluids. Use computerized equipment along with cutting torches, pneumatic wrenches, hydraulic jacks, screwdrivers, pliers, mallets and precision gauges. Test drive trucks before and after repairs, as needed.
