About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Truck & RV Mechanic/Technician to join our team. This role involves performing intermediate diagnostics, routine preventative maintenance, and comprehensive mechanical repairs on medium/heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and RV chassis. You will diagnose and repair various systems including air and hydraulic brakes, suspensions, steering, electrical circuits, lighting, and HVAC. A key part of the role is conducting thorough initial inspections and proactive diagnostics to ensure efficient ordering of parts and timely customer approvals. You will also be responsible for preparing commercial units for state and federal compliance inspections and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work bay. Accurate documentation of repair steps, clock hours, and diagnostic notes via our shop management system is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of verifiable, hands-on experience in heavy-duty commercial truck, trailer, or RV maintenance and repair.
  • Must possess and maintain a complete, professional personal tool set capable of handling general heavy-duty repairs.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with solid foundational knowledge of diesel engine maintenance, air brake systems, and circuit-level electrical troubleshooting.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a clean background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Cummins diesel engines or RV chassis systems is highly advantageous.
  • A valid Class "A" or Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform intermediate diagnostics, routine preventative maintenance, and comprehensive mechanical repairs on medium/heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and RV chassis.
  • Diagnose and repair air and hydraulic brake systems, front/rear suspensions, steering linkages, electrical circuits, lighting systems, and heavy-duty HVAC units.
  • Execute thorough initial inspections (including complete suspension and secondary system checks) on day one.
  • Maintain an aggressive focus on billable, revenue-generating jobs and manage clock hours to minimize unapplied time.
  • Conduct highly accurate safety inspections to prepare commercial units for state and federal DOT and BIT compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bay.
  • Accurately document completed repair steps, clock hours, and technical diagnostic notes on work orders via our shop management system (Karmak).
