The primary objective of equipment maintenance is the repair and up-keep of production equipment; making sure to keep it in a safe, effective operating condition so that production and quality targets can be met on time and at cost. This role involves assisting equipment technicians or service personnel with technical support via phone/email or directly at job sites. The mechanic will develop quick and accurate communication with field personnel and dispatch, assure quality of repairs to minimize recall/duplicate work, and ensure compliance with all governmental and company safety policies. They will also review shop tool requirements for efficiency, observe and report deficiencies to improve the PM program, and participate in technical training with dealers/manufacturers, passing on knowledge to other mechanics. Close collaboration with the Field Services Dispatcher and parts personnel is expected to ensure on-time parts delivery. The role requires daily interaction with internal departments, Field Managers, Superintendents, and Field Mechanics, as well as maintaining open communication with vendors and manufacturers. Interpreting data from the computer database will aid in repair/replace decisions. This position is hourly and requires overtime as needed. The mechanic must possess sufficient tools as the company does not provide industry standard tools. The service truck must be kept clean and orderly. Responsibilities include staying within HOS (hours of service) if applicable and complying with all Trimble/Telogis regulations. Other job-related duties as required or assigned will be performed.
