About The Position

Sweetwater Propane is seeking a Diesel Truck Mechanic to take full ownership of their shop and keep a fleet running at peak performance. This is a full-time position offering steady, year-round work in a respectful, faith-based environment. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and fleet vehicles, diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, repairing engines, brakes, fuel systems, and related components, completing DOT inspections, and maintaining accurate service records. The mechanic will also work with management and vendors to prioritize repairs and assist with out-of-gas service calls as needed.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of diesel mechanic/technician experience required
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, truck systems, and diagnostics required
  • Basic computer skills for tracking service and completing documentation.
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in both shop and outdoor environments; able to stand, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs preferred
  • CDL Class A and Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements preferred

Responsibilities
