About The Position

Join a reputable employer in the Farmingdale, NY area that is expanding and hiring several experienced Diesel Truck Mechanics to maintain and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks. Mechanics will perform repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of vehicles including semi-trucks, dump trucks, box trucks, flatbed trucks, Reefer trucks, five tons, box trucks, and more.

Requirements

• 3+ years of diesel/automotive mechanic experience
• Strong diagnostic troubleshooting skills
• Must have basic computer skills
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
• Strong communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have your own set of tools

Nice To Haves

• Diesel Mechanic/Technician training (a plus)

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance services
• Maintain work area safety
• Conduct diesel repairs, service, and diagnostics
• Service customers and handle road calls
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions
• Work with minimal supervision
• Inspect trucks for proper working condition
• Perform routine maintenance
• Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment
• Repair major components (engine, transmission, differentials)
• Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements
