About The Position

Cox Fleet is seeking motivated individuals for an entry-level Diesel & Trailer Mechanic position through their FleeTec Academy program. This paid educational program is designed to train individuals with little to no prior experience to become full-time Diesel and Trailer Technicians. The program includes five weeks of intensive, full-time classroom training at an Academy Campus, with all travel, accommodation, and meal stipends covered. Upon completion of the classroom phase, participants will receive hands-on training from a Lead Technician and be offered a full-time Mobile Mechanic position. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art mobile vehicle. The program also includes ongoing training and a clear path for pay progression. Cox Fleet is a national leader in mobile on-site fleet maintenance, servicing light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers through mobile services and over 50 nationwide service centers.

Requirements

  • Desire to start a career as a Diesel and Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Willingness and ability to study hard.
  • Ability to dedicate 5 weeks away from home for full-time schooling.
  • Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be 21 years old to drive one of their trucks.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks, driving records checks, pre-employment drug testing, and physical examinations.

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a 5-week paid, full-time classroom training program covering Diesel and Trailer Repair fundamentals.
  • Undergo hands-on training with a Lead Technician after the initial classroom phase.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations as a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Operate a state-of-the-art mobile repair vehicle.
  • Attend periodic further classroom study for skill development.
  • Maintain and repair light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
