About The Position
Cox Fleet is offering a unique opportunity through its FleeTec Academy program for individuals interested in a career as a Diesel and Trailer Technician. This paid educational program provides comprehensive training in Diesel and Trailer Repair, including hands-on experience and a set of tools. Upon completion of the initial five-week full-time classroom phase, participants will be paired with a Lead Technician for further training and offered a full-time Mobile Mechanic position. The program includes travel expenses, accommodation, meal stipends, and a paycheck during the classroom phase. Ongoing training and career progression are part of the multi-year program, leading to a career as a Trailer Technician. Mobile Technicians are equipped with state-of-the-art vehicles to perform repairs and preventative maintenance at customer locations.
Requirements
- Desire to start a career as a Diesel and Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
- Willingness and ability to study hard.
- Dedication to being away from home for 5 weeks for training.
- Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
- Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
- Ability to operate an iPad.
- Must be 21 years old to drive a company truck.
- Willingness to undergo background checks, driving records checks, pre-employment drug testing, and physical examinations.

- High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a five-week full-time paid classroom training program.
- Undergo further hands-on training with a Lead Technician.
- Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs onsite at customer locations as a Mobile Mechanic.
- Operate a state-of-the-art vehicle to perform repairs.
- Attend periodic classroom study for continued skill development.
