Requirements

  • Previous professional diesel technician or automotive technician experience.
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
  • Working knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems.
  • Ability to accurately diagnose complex mechanical and electrical concerns.
  • Ability to use modern diagnostic equipment and computerized service systems.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
  • Professional attitude and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including a background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certifications are a plus.
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications or training are a plus.
  • Formal automotive/diesel training or technical-school education is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diesel vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and fuel-system repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel emissions and after-treatment systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service.
  • Read and interpret repair orders, service information, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs, parts, and labor.
  • Perform quality-control inspections to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and other members of the service team.
  • Follow manufacturer procedures, dealership policies, and all applicable safety standards.
  • Stay current with evolving automotive technology, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques.
