About The Position

The Diesel Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various components of tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment. This role also involves performing preventative maintenance services and ensuring all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and accurately. The technician will work in a dynamic environment, requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair
  • Excellent mechanical repair skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals
  • Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion
  • Ability to read work orders
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Must have own tools
  • Safety shoes (steel or composite toe) required

Nice To Haves

  • CDL Class A driver's license preferred
  • ASE certified
  • DOT inspection certified
  • EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 609
  • EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 608

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, drive trains, and tires for tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance services, including changing oil, checking fluids, inspecting batteries, testing lights, and lubricating equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships.
  • Receives and carries out instructions.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
