About The Position

Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision. We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Albuquerque, NM). We offer sign-on bonus, relocation, competitive pay and benefits! Will make an impact in the following ways: Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

  • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls unassisted
  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
  • Brake inspections, adjustments, repairs, caliper replacement, pads/shoes, rotors/drums, and air brake components.
  • Inspect and repair springs, shocks, bushings, torque rods, and suspension components.
  • Diagnose and repair steering components, tie rods, drag links, steering boxes, and related hardware.
  • Hub, bearing, seal, wheel, and lug-related repairs and inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair axle components, U-joints, driveshafts, and related driveline components.
  • Diagnose wiring, lighting, sensors, ABS, and other chassis electrical systems.
  • Inspect and repair chassis/frame components and mounting hardware.
  • Perform chassis inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and required maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot chassis-related faults and determine necessary repairs and parts.
  • Complete accurate repair documentation, parts identification, and safety inspections.
