About The Position

Carvana is seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Technician to join their innovative Fleet Maintenance team. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of their Class 8 fleet, which primarily consists of day cabs and trailers under manufacturer warranty. The technician will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and system repairs, with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company. Requirements

3+ years of experience with Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment (e.g., agricultural, construction, waste collection truck).
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic software and using a laptop for manuals.
Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics.
A minimum of two ASE Certifications within the first 6 months of employment (reimbursement provided).
A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with vehicle maintenance (lifting, bending, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Solid attendance record and punctuality.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Nice To Haves

Comfortable with MIG welding.
T-series ASE Certifications are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on the fleet.
Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot complex electrical, engine, and transmission problems.
Address issues with aftertreatment systems (DEF/emissions), perform regens, and change filters.
Work with the team to maintain accurate records, optimize vehicle performance, and minimize downtime.
Adhere to all safety protocols and industry best practices to ensure the fleet is always DOT compliant.
