About The Position

This position is designed for an experienced diesel technician with strong mechanical knowledge, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and customer service. As a Technician II, you will independently provide accurate, efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and professionally repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Requirements

  • A dedicated and experienced technician who takes pride in their work and contributes to the success of the team.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a diesel repair, heavy-duty truck service, automotive repair, or related shop environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, lube, tire, brake, and general truck service.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and diagnostic equipment used for service, diagnostics, and reporting.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions as needed.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • A polished and professional resume demonstrating relevant experience and achievements.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Successfully pass a full criminal background check.
  • Successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Successfully pass an insurability check.
  • Successfully complete a required DOT physical.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a results-driven, professional environment focused on providing superior customer service.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of diesel repair and maintenance to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, wear conditions, and equipment concerns.
  • Independently perform repairs, maintenance, and services within your skill set and established procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, lube, tire, brake, and other truck service work as qualified.
  • Diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers using appropriate tools, equipment, and diagnostic systems.
  • Communicate repair findings and recommendations to customers clearly and professionally.
  • Follow Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and repair records.
  • Properly use hand tools, shop equipment, diagnostic equipment, and other tools required to complete repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety guidelines and promptly report potentially unsafe situations.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with technicians, team members, customers, and management.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, sensitivity, and respect when working with a diverse population.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
