Diesel Technician
About The Position
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Indianapolis, IN. This position will begin on the day shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) and will transition to the second shift (3:30 PM–12:30 AM). Applicants must be comfortable working both shifts. You will make an impact in the following ways: Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop Will preform chassis work (brakes etc.) as well as engine work. Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools
Requirements
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
- A current valid license is required for this role
- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
Nice To Haves
- Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
Responsibilities
- Completes complex internal engine repairs
- Performs engine overhauls unassisted
- Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
- Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
- This position will be cross trained to preform chassis work / Brakes ETC as well as engine work.
- Maintain own tools
