We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Experienced Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This position requires advanced mechanical knowledge, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to independently identify the root cause of complex mechanical, electrical, emissions, and drivability concerns. Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional diesel mechanic experience; 7 or more years preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, and emissions systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience performing major diesel engine repairs.
  • Advanced experience with transmissions, steering, suspension, brake systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to use diagnostic software, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and electronic service information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
  • Must provide personal hand tools.
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
  • Must have positive points on state driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
  • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.

  • Trade school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, emissions systems, and drivability concerns.
  • Perform major engine repairs and service transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
  • Use diagnostic software and service information to identify the root cause of complex issues.
  • Diagnose CAN bus, EGR, DPF, and SCR system concerns.
  • Document diagnostic findings, repairs completed, parts used, and recommended repairs.
  • Complete work safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and communicate repair status clearly.
