Diesel Technician - Level II
About The Position
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Spartanburg, SC. In this role, you will make an impact by completing troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. You will perform preventative maintenance based on engine assessments, utilizing computers and software for diagnostic work. You will apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, identifying and preparing necessary parts and tools. Additionally, you will complete required documentation, undergo ongoing training and certifications on Cummins products, and adhere to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.
Requirements
- Engine product troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds.
- Preventative maintenance.
- Utilizing computers/software for diagnostic work.
- Applying documented procedures and policies for complex repairs.
- Identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Completing required documentation (work completed, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents).
- Ongoing training and certifications on Cummins products.
- Adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and reassembly of engines and/or engine components.
- Assisting experienced technicians with diagnostics and repair plans.
- Maintaining work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
Responsibilities
- Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
- Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
- Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
- Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components.
- Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop.
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
