About The Position

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will make an impact by completing troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. You will also perform preventative maintenance based on engine assessments, utilizing computers and software for diagnostic work. This position requires applying documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, identifying and preparing necessary parts and tools, and completing required documentation. Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products are part of the role, as is adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.

Requirements

  • Engine repair specialization
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and customer equipment.
  • Proficiency in performing preventative maintenance on engines.
  • Skill in using computers and software for diagnostic work.
  • Ability to apply documented procedures and policies for complex repairs.
  • Capability to identify and prepare required parts and tools.
  • Experience in completing required documentation (work completed, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents).
  • Willingness to undergo ongoing training and obtain additional certifications on Cummins products.
  • Adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Ability to disassemble, inspect, and clean engines and/or engine components.
  • Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.

Responsibilities

  • Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
  • Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
  • Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
  • Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
  • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Disassemble, inspect and clean engines and /or engine components.
  • Assists with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
