The Diesel Technician III will strive to meet or exceed goal times for repairs. Able to work unsupervised for extended periods of time and assist in training technicians in lower job classifications. This role involves diagnosing, overhauling, adjusting, and repairing various truck and trailer equipment, including engines, transmissions, differentials, starters, alternators, air conditioning systems, fan clutches, power steering systems, electrical/brake/cooling systems, clutches, PTO systems, tires, and engine electronics. The technician will also perform preventative maintenance, identify parts for repair, document warrantable repairs, maintain a safe work area, road test vehicles, and perform duties of lower job classifications. The position requires working outdoors in different weather conditions and may involve exposure to used cooking oil odors.
