Requirements

4 to 6 years of hands-on experience performing diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
Knowledge of handheld scanning tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
Ability to read schematics and familiarity with the process.
Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Valid Driver’s License in state of residence required
Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical

Nice To Haves

ASE Certifications preferred.
Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles
Test power and hydraulic systems to ensure they operate according to manufacturer specifications
Complete lubrication and greasing of all wear items on commercial vehicles and equipment
Diagnose and repair wheel bearings, hub assemblies, and seals on steer and drive axles
Remove and repair universal and slip joints, as well as support bearings on drive shafts
Complete service write-ups and provide accurate description or repairs made and parts utilized
Provide guidance and assistance to Diesel Technician I, when needed
