About The Position

The Diesel Tech-Mechanic provides accurate and efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a professional and accommodating manner. The role is part of TravelCenters of America’s coast-to-coast Truck Service team and helps return travelers to the road safely and in better condition. The technician works in a service-focused, collaborative environment; maintains knowledge of the products and services offered; assesses vehicle wear and recommends services with a TSA or Manager; completes repairs within their capabilities and as written; follows Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs; and follows safety guidelines while reporting potentially unsafe situations. Work may take place outdoors in all seasons and involve loud noise, fumes, particles, vibration, dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, and gas.

Requirements

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Ability to work in interior and exterior conditions.
A valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a repair or parts shop is preferred.
