About The Position

TravelCenters of America is hiring a Level One Technician for its Truck Service team. The technician provides accurate, efficient service by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers professionally and accommodatingly. The role focuses on returning travelers to the road in better condition than when they arrived, while delivering strong customer service and following safety guidelines.

The technician works with the TSA or Manager to assess wear conditions and make recommendations to customers, completes repairs within their capabilities and as written, and learns the products, services, Truck Service Standard Services, and specialized customer programs. The role may involve work in interior and exterior conditions and flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to work in interior and exterior conditions.

Nice To Haves

• Prior verifiable truck service experience preferred.
• Heavy-duty ASE certifications are not required but are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Provide professional, accommodating, and efficient service to customers.
• Diagnose wear conditions and, together with the TSA or Manager, make recommendations to customers.
• Complete repairs within their capabilities and as written.
• Understand Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs.
• Develop extensive knowledge of the products sold and services provided.
• Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
• Help provide a service experience that exceeds customer expectations.
