About The Position

Join Arrow Stage Lines as a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic in Kansas City and help maintain a pristine fleet of late-model, state-of-the-art motorcoaches. We are hiring for a 1st Shift position, working 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with pay based on experience at $28–$32 per hour. Requirements

  • Fleet maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug testing, background check, and back screening.
  • Ability to work on-call, evenings, and weekends as needed; on-call weeks can earn up to an additional $500.
  • Ability to find solutions and proactively address work-related problems.
  • Self-motivated and able to work efficiently and effectively under time and budgetary pressures.
  • Ability to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Reliable, with good attendance and punctuality.
  • Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Brake and A/C certifications are preferred.
  • Associate degree or technical college certificates preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a fleet of pristine, late-model motorcoaches and support vehicles for our Heart of America facilities.
  • Help ensure every coach placed into service is safe, reliable, and free of mechanical defects.
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and routine service on fleet vehicles.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other parts to ensure proper operating condition.
  • Repair and maintain engine components, including fuel injection systems.
  • Repair electrical systems.
  • Change tires on buses and support vehicles.
  • Repair gas/diesel engines and A/C systems.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
