About The Position

PRS is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in a full-time permanent position in our Bergen, NJ rail terminal in a recession-proof industry! You will be an employee of Pacific Rail Services and not an employee of the Railroad. Compensation: Hourly pay with yearly income potential of $45,000-$60,000 per year (Which includes overtime). Pay rate is commensurate with experience. Shift: Day shift, 24/7 call out avail.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-year experience in the mechanical field
• Preventative maintenance minded
• Must have own tools
• Must have experience and knowledge working with Air, Electrical, Hydraulic and Diesel systems and components.
• Will need a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 with verifiable mechanical experience
• Candidates must undergo a background check.
• Must be able to pass a physical strength test.
• Drug screening (as we operate heavy machinery, Marijuana is strictly prohibited)
• Required to join local union.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair forklifts, company vehicles, and hostler fleet.
• Maintain Hostler Fleet
• Assist in other areas as needed by managers.
