About The Position

The Packer Avenue Marine Terminal, operated by Greenwich Terminals LLC, is a highly productive terminal seeking qualified mechanics to contribute to overall terminal operations by inspecting and maintaining company equipment and vehicles. Heavy equipment experience is preferred. This is a union position offering excellent benefits.

Requirements

2+ years of automotive or heavy equipment mechanic experience, or a Technical School diploma
Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Dependable, persistent, and able to manage time effectively
Demonstrated problem-solving ability and strong attention to detail
Commitment to safety management and safe working practices

Nice To Haves

Heavy equipment experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, and maintain equipment and vehicles to ensure proper working condition
Perform preventative maintenance including engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, and filter replacements
Diagnose and repair engine failures and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system malfunctions
Replace defective parts and components as needed
Listen to and assess operator complaints to identify and resolve equipment issues
Verify vehicle capability through test drives and adjustment of controls and systems
Maintain accurate equipment records by documenting all service and repairs
Possess a basic knowledge of parts and parts ordering processes
Keep vehicles clean and well-maintained in appearance
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area at all times
Follow all company safety policies and utilize safe working practices
Ability to work at satellite sites within a 10-mile radius
