About The Position

Waste Connections, Inc. is looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join their high-performing team in Altamonte Springs, FL. While experience in the Waste or Recycling industry is a plus, it is not required. The company offers competitive pay, great benefits, and a $5,000 Stay-On Bonus. The role involves performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Diesel Trucks and Heavy Equipment, troubleshooting various vehicle systems, using onboard computer systems for issue resolution, completing work orders using fleet maintenance software, responding to emergency breakdowns, and ensuring a safe work environment.

Requirements

2+ Years of hands-on Diesel Mechanic experience
Strong knowledge of DPF Regeneration Systems (especially CUMMINS and MACK)
Must have your own tools.
Comfortable working 2nd shift (2PM – 2AM)
Basic computer skills for Diagnostics and Documentation
Commitment to safety practices and PPE usage

Nice To Haves

Experience in the Waste or Recycling industry
Welding/Fabrication skills

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Diesel Trucks and Heavy Equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
Use onboard computer systems to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
Complete work orders and documentation using our fleet maintenance software.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-site service calls.
Ensure a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant work environment.
