The Diesel Mechanic will perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on all types of class 6 through 8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment. This role involves accessing equipment to perform necessary maintenance, including inspecting and performing work in, on, or under parts of the equipment. Responsibilities include repairing or rebuilding various equipment systems, troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment and component issues, and performing HVAC system repairs. The mechanic will also abide by DOT, EPA, Interstate Authority, OSHA, and other rules and regulations, conduct safety inspections, and maintain proficiency with equipment and technologies. Additionally, the role requires moving trailers using a hostler in various weather conditions, entering job times and parts on repair orders, operating specialized tooling and vehicles, and ensuring the work area is clean, safe, and organized. Interaction with operations and shop management is also a key part of the job.
