About The Position
Village Travel is an award-winning, family-owned company that operates a large fleet of over 200 charter motorcoaches. The Company began in 1980 and has since expanded its regional footprint and continues to grow into one of the largest full-service charter and tour operations in the Midwest. We are in search of a Full Time Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of motorcoaches in Wichita, KS. Our state-of-the-art facility, built specifically for buses, is located at the corner of K96 and Ridge Road. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of experience in maintenance and repair of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment.
- Participation in the company’s DOT drug testing program.
- Must have your own tools.
Nice To Haves
- Able to acquire and hold a Class A or B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsements.
- Degree or certificate from an accredited technical school in automotive or diesel repair.
Responsibilities
- Advanced diagnostics and repair of HVAC, brake, electrical, suspension, ADA, interior, engine, and aftertreatment systems with minimal errors and minimal supervision.
- Advanced knowledge of DOT and CVSA requirements and regulations.
- Proficient in the use of maintenance software to complete all paperwork in a timely and thorough manner.
- May participate in rotating on-call schedule after sufficient experience.
- Demonstrates sound judgement when problems arise.
- Provides and maintains all necessary tools and uses all company-provided tools in a responsible manner.
- Willingly assists other mechanics, both in home market and in other locations, sometimes requiring travel to other company facilities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman, General Manager, and Director of Fleet Maintenance
