Reston Limousine is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This role involves diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and various vehicle systems, performing maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance. The position offers a Monday-Friday schedule with flexible hours and overtime opportunities. Requirements

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, emission control systems, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical, air conditioning, air brakes, and computer diagnostics.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Previous experience doing preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Strong mechanical skills and the ability to problem-solve.
  • Dedication to maintain the highest standard of safety in all aspects of the job.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Read job orders and observe and listen to vehicles in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
  • Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
  • Report to the Service Manager and will be assigned duties on a daily basis.
  • Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and be available for an open work schedule.
  • Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with fuel, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed and documented as assigned.
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical, air conditioning, air brakes, computer diagnostics.
  • Conduct DOT safety checks on vehicles.
  • Work under limited supervision using written or verbal instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Identify multiple projects and prioritize work to maximize truck utilization.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively at various levels to obtain and provide information needed to accomplish goals through Emails, Texts with the Fleet manager and various Contract supervisors.
