About The Position

Reyes Fleet Management is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A to repair and maintain tractor and trailer equipment at the Reyes Beverage Group shop in Chesapeake, Virginia. The full-time schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Pay is $30.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The role diagnoses, rebuilds, repairs, inspects, and maintains fleet equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units. It uses diagnostic technology or software as applicable and requires detailed repair and preventive-maintenance documentation in an online Enterprise Asset Management system. The technician completes complex work with minimal supervision and follows applicable company, local, state, federal, DOT, and OSHA requirements and safety practices. The position may involve driving company or customer vehicles and requires the applicable driver qualification file to be maintained. Some travel may be required. A CDL is highly desired and mandatory in some locations. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of related experience, their own tools, and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record. A technical school certification is preferred. Requirements

High school diploma or GED and at least three years of related experience.
Must possess own tools.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles.
Ability to frequently lift, push, and/or pull more than 50 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds.
A valid Class A CDL is mandatory in some locations.
CDL holders must complete a DOT drug screening within 30 days of start and are subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
Employment offer is contingent on successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, rebuild, and repair fleet equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts.
Document repairs and preventive maintenance thoroughly in the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic technology or software when applicable.
Complete complex, detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
Follow company, local, state, federal, DOT, and OSHA policies and regulations, including safety programs and established safety practices.
Select and use appropriate tools and personal protective equipment, and follow machine-guarding requirements.
Drive Reyes company or customer vehicles when required and maintain the driver qualification file required for the role.
Complete other projects or duties as assigned.
Travel when required.
